Wonderful Rimini

Rimini is situated in the region of Emilia Romagna and was founded in 260BC and originally had the name of Ariminum.   Nowadays it is the hub of Italy’s Adriatic Riviera with 1000’s of tourists heading to the town and area for the beautiful sandy beaches, fantastic weather, culture and of course Italian food.   It has always been popular with English speaking tourists and Rimini caters well for this market with lots of information in English.  Not only the menus on the sidewalks but also all about its history, culture as well as its legendary night life.   While the main stay of the city is a population of circa 100,000 – in the summer months this can swell to in excess of one million visitors.    Other less well known facts are:

• Julius Caesar famously made the decision to march on Rome after crossing the nearby Rubicon


• We did mention the beaches – well Rimini has over forty thousand sun umbrellas along it golden coast.  So you shouldn’t have to worry about the mid day sun
